Oil Boiler Installations
Why upgrade to an oil-fired boiler?
If your property isn’t connected to the mains gas network — or you want greater independence from it — then installing a modern oil boiler offers a smart alternative. With the right system, you’ll enjoy reliable heating and hot water, improved efficiency and peace of mind knowing you’re working with a specialist in oil-fired systems.

Key considerations for oil-boiler installations
Fuel tank – your fuel-storage tank must meet current regulations, be in sound condition, suitably located (typically outdoors) and accessible for delivery.
Flue and ventilation – the flue must be positioned correctly according to regulations to ensure safe evacuation of combustion gases; the boiler room must have adequate ventilation.
Sizing and controls – getting the right size boiler for your heating and hot water demand means better efficiency and comfort. Modern oil boilers should be paired with smart controls or thermostats to maximise savings.
Efficiency gains – Replacing an aging oil boiler with a modern, A-rated condensing oil boiler can significantly reduce your fuel usage and carbon footprint.
Maintenance – regular servicing is even more crucial for oil systems (e.g., burner check, flue sweep, tank inspection) to keep safe and efficient operation.
Frequently Asked Questions
For a like-for-like swap (same location, same type of system) the installation is usually completed within a day or two. If relocation of the boiler, re-sizing of the oil tank or major system changes are required, it can take longer.
Most domestic oil boilers use kerosene (also known as home heating oil or 28-second oil). We’ll confirm this during your installation survey and can advise on approved fuel suppliers in your area.
Most oil-boiler replacements don’t require planning permission, but the installation must comply with building regulations and current oil-storage regulations. We will advise as part of the survey.
Signs that a replacement is due include: boiler is over 15 years old, rising fuel bills, frequent breakdowns, unusual noises or visible corrosion. Upgrading early can save fuel and avoid heating disruptions.
